Morning Wander

One of morning in Paris we decided to divert away from the tourist track and take in out local area.

We were staying in Hotel Terrass and though we didn't know it the surrounding area of the hotel is seriously beautiful!

Filled with boutiques, bakeries, cafes, fruit stalls and many, many florists.

You guys know I'm a magpie for fresh flowers!

Oh course, we dipped into a chocolate store or two.. or three.

I mean a chocolate fish people!... A chocolate fish!

Seriously, the colour in this photo doesn't even do these babies justice. They were insane, I could have eaten a bucket of them.

A thoroughly enjoyable wander about town.

If you are very in the Montmartre area of Paris, I very much suggest a wander around.

Versailles | the Gardens

Once back in the sunshine and fresh air, I was invigorated and more fun well goofy faces than ever.

In Versailles, once in the gardens you can rent golf carts, and there was never a question... I was in there, like swimwear.

K and I were of course put like bold children in the back seat.

Ok, with these kind of faces, we sort of live up to our names! * wink wink

My lot in life, trying to get the best angle.

And K being my paparazzi.

Though I do turn the tables of her sometimes!

Or sometimes, I try run away.

But Mum did put us in our place once more, took away the cameras and got us together for some, 'no goofy faces' proper photos, ones you could send home to Nana or something!

As you can see, it didn't last very long.

'I mean, its an ok house, right K?'

'Em, its alright.'

'Actually, I love it!'

I got K around to my way of thinking, so much so we were jumping for joy!

It seemed in no time at all, we were rounded up and putting back in to the golf cart and brought back to the gates, as you can see, we weren't very happy about it!

Versailles was a beautiful and so much fun.

I would well recommend a trip there to anyone if you are in the area.

Versailles | The Palace

The following morning we all set out VERY early and headed straight to Versailles. I'd always been a little bit in love with Maria Antoinette, and the idea of walking the halls, the steps and looking upon where she lay her head was a definite must on my list for my Parisian adventures.

The sun was shining and the Palace was glowing.

We got there around 9am and beat all the rushes of people and pretty much walked straight into the Palace.
I'm not one of queuing so the early rise, was a must for me!

Imagine, this is part of your house!

The Palace is beautifully presented and preserved...

And, beaming with light on sunny days.

'Hey there good looking!'

Give me a fan and I will start to sing Bohemian Rhapsody while making goofy faces.
I just will, now and forever.

Doing my best 'Deep Thinking' faces  above. What do you think, would I pass for a scholar?!

K didn't seem to think so, giggling away.

See that big window behind K, well beyond there, there is a roaming beautiful garden... BUT, lets not get ahead of ourselves, more on that later.

Arrival in Paris

Well as some of you may know, I just had a rather large Birthday.  I turned 21! So to mark the occasion, I along with my Best Friend K, my Mum and some dear family jetted off to Paris to celebrate.

We arrived late in the Evening and K & I busied ourselves staring at our amazing view, showered and dressed for dinner.

We went to a little local restaurant just down the street from our hotel and had a wonderful meal.

Sadly I didn't take many photos due to pure tiredness.

BUT, I did take in this salad! It was a poached egg, bacon and leaf salad. It was delicious, and I will be most definitely replicating it and putting the recipe up here.

Anyway, I almost have the rest of the pictures uploaded so get ready for A LOT of Paris snaps and stories to come your way.
