Current Desires

Happy Monday All!

So I'm off on a little trip this week, one you all will hear a lot about and there will be many a post coming your way about it, but for now I've got some other fun stuff to show you!

I headed down to my Parents house this weekend and that means a couple of things; great food, a toasty fire, cuddles with the dogs and a lovely sunday morning internet binge on their super fast Wifi.

And one reoccurring theme I was thinking about and seeing about my web surfing was this...

Spring has sprung! So you've guessed it, that means an up date for life and the closet...

...and that means I'm doing a lot of lusting lately and it goes a little something like this.

Topshop Polka Dot Crop Blazer // Its divine, navy and I must have it in my future. Did I mention the polka dots?! It's practically calling my name.

Peonies // I can't wait for Summer to roll around so my local florist will have these babies back in stock.

Blue Crockery // My Grandmother had a fantastic set of this crockery & I can't wait to bring a full set for dream home.

Mason Jars // I may be late to this party but I desperately want some mason jar glasses and some divine home-made lemonade to go in them.

After what seems like a very long Winter, I for one am extremely excited for some Springtime freshness.

Are you lusting anything for this Spring?

A Night As Blair

See this stunning Lady under neath, well this is one of my oldest and dearest friends Jan.

We met several years ago through inter school activities and well as they say the rest is history.

We've had a lot of first together and shared all our war stories. And pretty much, even with living apart now and only seeing each other sometimes, I couldn't imagine life without her, so when it was her birthday I had only one option... Get my butt to the Capital (aka Dublin, feel a big Hunger Games-ish calling it The Capital! haha)

She was having a joint birthday with her Roommate Korki, who is also one of my great friends and  I actually went school with!

It's great when friends live together, really cuts down on the travel costs! ;)

Their party was Tv & Film themed and everyone was great and made an effort to dress up.

Everyone was there, Dorothy, Sandy from Grease, Mary Queen of Scotches from Reign (New Tv Addiction of mine and Jans!) and Captain American and Peggy Carter even turned up!

I came as the Queen of the Upper east Side herself Blair Waldorf, donning my very own headband and pearl set.

Do you think I would make it onto the Met Steps?!

Well everyone at the party seemed to think so, because as one of the party games we got to nominate people for Oscars based on their Costumes and I got 'Best Female'!

As someone who watched The Oscars every year, I was pretty excited with my win.

'I'd like to thank the academy... '

The party was so much fun, catching up with old friends, I haven't seen in ages and making some new ones too.

I never want to know what life would be without these ladies. Girls you're simple the best.

Happy Birthday Jan!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

I want a change. In the whole sense really, but I'm starting in the hair department.

You see, I was platinum blonde when I was a child and until my teens when my hair started going darker and duller and thus I started dyeing my hair to keep it looking its blonde self.

But when I started University I just looked in the mirror one day & I was so sick of the blonde that I booked a hair appointment that day and I've been dyeing it different variations of blonde and brunette and sometimes both, ever since.

I tend to change it depending on the time of year and the seasons and right before Christmas I went back to my more natural (now) colour of total brunette from blonde.

So as I'm sure many of you are, as well as me, I am totally sick of this long Winter we have been having  so in a bid to hurry up the Spring Sunshine in my own life I thinking of adding a few highlights.

I always take inspiration for Ladies like the ones below.

I always bring a photograph with me to show my colourist. This way they know exactly what I'm asking for and imaging cause it is right there, there is no point paying a something you're not happy with and then stuck with.

But I'm not sure with one I want to go with, I'm an eternal fan of Ms. Biel, or should I say Biel- Timberlake, but I have to say Ms. Olsen is giving her a run for her money with those honey dripped locks.

What do you guys think ?

Feeling Lush-cious

During my trip to Dublin last week, i made it my point to visit Lush off Grafton Street.

I'd past it several times when I lived in Dublin but never went in. I know a travesty, and one I had to rectify.

It was love at first sight.

The place smelled amazing and was roaring with a fantastic rainbow of colour in all shapes and sizes...

Even carrots!

I spent far too long in there, rubbing in lots of lotions, smelling my way around the store and chatting to the lovely staff.

I walked away with a few bath bombs, a seaweed one and one that I swear smells exactly like the fizzy orange lollipops that were around when I was little.

I've tried the seaweed already and the colour it turned the bath water made me feel like I was back swimming in Trinidad & Tobago. Sheer Bliss.

And also I managed to pick up a Mothers Day gift in there too, but I better keep my lips sealed on that one!

Current Favourites

Happy Monday All!

Now I don't know bout you all, but I am not a morning person. I would give my left leg for another 10 minutes in bed on a rainy Monday morning. So to aid this deisre I like to have all the things I need to the day, laid out the night before. And this got me thinking what are the things in my life now, that'd I'd missed significantly if they were there no more.

I mean, there is some things in life we just cant live without. Some stay constant, and often others change as needs do and time passes.

These are just a couple of of 'You must be in my life' items for me right now!

1 // My headphones, I always have a pair with me to listen to music when I'm bored. I have a pair of Beats by Dre for downtime and travel, mine are white but I'm loving these funky rainbow colours. Perfect for summer and springtime.

2 // My Jack Wills Peacoat, I wear it almost everyday with the weather staying chilly and it adds a wonderful touch of style and class to all outfits.

3 // Entourage Boxsets, There is a terrific Library in my town and since I've moved & the TV channels being limited in my new house I've been hitting up the local Libraries wonderful DVD section and my latest addiction from it has been watching box sets of Entourage. I never watched it while it was on TV but I'm loving it now!

4 // Dark Chocolate, I've been trying my  best to eat as healthy as possible since I've been going to the gym regularly, but for someone with the biggest sweet tooth dark chocolate has been my saviour.

5 // Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia perfume, I wear it everyday and it's wonderfully fresh for Springtime.

6 // Ray Ban Aviators. these puppies need no introduction, everyday necessity and 3 years in I would recommend a pair of investment sunglasses to anyone.

7 // Nike Free Runner, I have been living in these babies since I purchased them a couple of weeks ago. Super comfortable and a definite wardrobe staple for me right now.

What about you guys ? What can't you live without, sound off in the comments below.

A Stroll Down Grafton

The morning after the Beyonce concert we spent with an extra long sleep and sleepy beds dragged out of bed and set forth back to town for some browsing and pampering.

I love Jo Malone! The candles, the lotions and of course the perfumes, they are the only scents I wear.

So when the Jo Malone boutique in Brown Thomas was offering free hand massages to exhibit the new  limited editions London Rain Collection. I jumped into the chair to try one.

It was luxurious, smooth and smelled divine. I fell in love the the rain and Angelina scent. It was wonderfully fresh for Spring and now officially on my wish list.

After finishing the pampering, drooling my way around the Brown Thomas Luxury Hall picking up a couple of birthday gifts for upcoming celebrations and of course a new book, K and I headed forth for some nourishment.

We dined on cheesy pizza goodness in Milanos just off Grafton Street and then parted ways. So I could head home while K went off to see her sister.

Another great little excursion and filled with giggles and great music. Dublin it's been swell.

A Night with Beyonce

So one thing you should know about me; I love live music, not DJs but people singing their lungs out or going mental on a guitar or something. Its a kind of funny thing about me seeing as I don't like night clubs in the slightest.

I've been to several concerts over the years, but Beyonce back in 2009...I think, remains one of the best, so when I heard Queen Bey was coming back to Dublin, there was only one option.

I got the tickets, counted the days on my calendar, gathered my Best friend K and off we went!

The night started off with my greasy fries and chocolate shakes, which after several weeks working hard in the gym, tasted pretty good! But, being fast food we got it & ate very quickly.

We arrived early to the concert grabbed out amazing seat and well we all know there is only one thing to do in moments of boredom in crowded places... 'Cousin It' impressions!

Pretty good right!

The concert was amazing, the dancers flipped and swaggered around in ways I could very imagine and Queen Bey did not disappoint! If you ever have the chance to see her live, GO!

The night was all the better spent with my partner in crime K, get used to her face on here cause you never know where we might pop up next... (*hint, hint Eiffel Tower! )

3 words guys...Watch This Space.

First Kiss

Happy Friday All!

I know, I know I've been a very bad blogger this week. But you see, I've been doing stuff! and it's stuff I can't wait to share with you all but right now my camera is uploading like a hot pancake, so I have another post for you all today.

Do you ever have videos or news article pop up all over but you just sort of ignore it for lack of interest, but you eventually give in because it's popularity has only grown over the day.

Well yesterday this happened to me in the form of a YouTube video no less.

I'd seen it being shared on my news feeds and dashes several times throughout the day but didn't take much notice, until my lunch break and it was right there at the top once again.

It's a couple of minutes long documentary / short film where 20 total strangers are matched together and asked to kiss.

A very simple task and if in a club wouldn't garner a second thought.

But this is different, there is no Pitbull or Beyonce playing in the background and their mouths aren't sticky from the last tequila shot.

They are just in a room together, one person to another.

I dare you to watch it and not feel something.

There is something so bare and raw to it and I think very, very sweet.

There is something magic in a first kiss and its power is incredible giving that it can make or break a relationship.

And looking at how the people are together, reactions, interactions it shows a lot into the nature of that person, a well, bare, naked look at the soul.

I guess that's what happens when you have to bare intimate moment in a unusual situation.

Ok, so I know I shared a lot of thoughts on it but I'd love to here your thoughts of this video.

Sound off in the comments below.

Your Day

Happy Monday All!

The other day I was watching a movie & there was a scene that really stuck with me.

Two new parents  are dropping their son to school and as the boy is leaving them, the father yells to his son 'Have a good day!' to which the mother objects that its too much pressure, and the Dad quickly replies 'Have the day you'll have'

And it just got me thinking, how profound that was and that you should...

Have the day you'll have because it's your day, make it great because it's yours.

And just...

Just a little thought of mine I thought I'd say with all of you guys.

Granted this may be a tad too deep of thinking for a Monday midmorning, but I figure start the week as we mean to continue!

Have a good week all.

Spring Walks

The storms have offically past and there is a renewed freshness in the Spring air.

And the sun is offically up and out!

So with the rays shining down I decided to take a break from my desk and charge down the beach for this afternoon with the pups and get a breath of much needed fresh air and some sun on my cheeks.

Don't need to tell Toby twice, the word walkies and he's out the door!

Robbie gets slightly distracted with his love of prancing his paws through the puddles.

After walking the legs off myself and the pups we wandered to a Beach Front Cafe I know for some hot chocolate to warm up and maybe.... a biscuit... Shhhh! I won't tell if you don't, but after all that walking I think I earned it.

Toby thought he earned some too...

Better luck next time Tobster! But, I think there's a dog treat at home with your name on it.
